Question for you……
If you don’t love yourself enough to give your body the right food, attract the best relationships and look after your mind, body and soul how do you suppose you love yourself enough to attract a full, rich, financially abundant life?
When we are born we trust our instincts; how to eat only when we’re hungry, how to not care about what anyone else thinks of our singing voices, dance moves or hair dos!
But as we grow we replace many of this with negative false beliefs – fear, shame and self-doubt.
OR we rise to the occasion, realise how truly mighty we are and set out to relearn what we knew at the beginning all over again!
We invest in what other people think we should invest in –
Being too old to go clubbing….. but they love dancing
Being tough and too cool for school when all they want is to be loved and to learn
Being ashamed of their sexuality instead of being their gloriously gay selves
Whilst there are countless ways that we tear ourselves to shreds, there is one way in particular that is, without a doubt, the most devastating of all……… we invest all our energy into believing we’re not good enough.
Self-love is the simplest, most powerful thing ever, yet it flies right out the window when we start taking in outside information!
We need to love ourselves enough to let go of guilt, criticism, and self-doubt and embrace passion, joy, and gratitude.
When we’re happy and all in love with ourselves, we can’t be bothered with the bullshit or other peoples
Most people never make the connection between the way they feel about themselves and how much they earn, how happy they are or how successful they are. The connection is there whether you see it or not.
Imagine what our world would be like if everyone loved themselves so much they weren’t threatened by other peoples’ opinions, or skin colours, or sexual preferences, or talents, or education or possessions or lack of possessions, or religious beliefs or for just being who they are.
In the interest of perpetuating radical self–love, here are some of the best ways to win yourself over again……
- appreciate how special you are
- Drown yourself in Affirmations
- Do things you love
- Find a replacement
- Ditch the self-deprecating humour
- Let the love it
- Don’t compare yourselves to others
- Forgive yourself – this is important
- Love yourself – Because it’s the holy grail of happiness
The thing is, if we are not head over heels in love with ourselves then we don’t treat ourselves well. That can present in many ways. It might be that someone is eating the wrong foods and not exercising or that they over do it at the gym and become fanatical. They may allow their partner or friends to treat them badly or stay in a job that doesn’t make them happy. These things are the symptoms but never the actual problem.
